32:44Replacing a Load Bearing Ridge Beam | This Old House
From the creator
In this video, the new design plan includes an open kitchen and dining area, but a lally column carrying the load of the roof and ridge beam is in the way. Charlie and Tom Silva will remove the lally column and ridge beam and replace it with a larger engineered ridge beam to span the area. This is accomplished by craning in three individual engineered beams that will be sandwiched in place. SUBSCRIBE to This Old House: http://bit.ly/SubscribeThisOldHouse. Where to find it?
