University of Waterloo student researchers have been crunching the numbers to look at what age athletes — particularly Olympians — hit their peak performance. "We found that most athletes are participating in the Olympics at around the age of 27. And coincidentally, the peak age of these athletes when they reached their time," study lead author and data scientist David Awosoga said.
