(January 20, 2003) Joel Beinin shares his experiences on teaching a controversial subject like the Arab-Israeli conflict and how he approaches the topic. This is never an easy process but Professor Beinin details some of the methods he has found useful. The Center for Teaching and Learning is a Stanford University institution that seeks to promote excellence in all teaching. They seek to find methods for effective teaching that encompasses not only the transmission of facts, but the engaged and active learning of students.
