The grass fire at CFB Wainwright in Alberta travelled quickly. A powerful cold front swept across the region that afternoon, bringing a dramatic drop in temperature, strengthening winds and a sudden shift in wind direction. CORRECTION (Oct. 22, 2026): This video and a previous text description stated the grass fire travelled one kilometre in 36 seconds.
