For some Albertans, this election is about unity | The Current

From the creator

Many Albertans say they feel misunderstood by the rest of Canada — and as tensions rise with the U.S., so do worries about national unity. As part of The Current’s election series, Crossroads: Coast to Coast with Canadian Voters, Matt Galloway travels to Red Deer, in the heart of Alberta, to hear what matters most to voters in this election. From a fracking site to a cattle farm, Albertans share their frustrations over untapped resources and divisions in the country. Newcomers remain hopeful but worry we’ve forgotten how to talk to each other. Plus, oil and gas workers push back on outside perceptions. And political strategists dig into the impact of Trump’s threats and tariffs, and whether Edmonton-born Liberal Leader Mark Carney is gaining any ground from Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre. 00:00 - What matters most to Alberta voters this election? 30:16 - Oil and gas workers share what they want from whoever wins the election 50:01 - Political strategists on the impact of Trump’s threats and tariffs #alberta #canada #election #politics »»» Subscribe to CBC News to watch more videos: http://bit.ly/1RreYWS Connect with CBC News Online: For breaking news, video, audio and in-depth coverage: http://bit.ly/1Z0m6iX Follow CBC News on TikTok: https://bit.ly/3TnHioe Follow CBC News on Twitter: http://bit.ly/1sA5P9H Find CBC News on Facebook: http://bit.ly/1WjG36m Follow CBC News on Instagram: http://bit.ly/1Z0iE7O Subscribe to CBC News on Snapchat: https://bit.ly/3leaWsr
