ESCAPE FROM THE EXECUTIONER! ⚔️ Devil-May-Care (1929) | Pre-Code Classic Feature

From the creator

A Royal Melody - Love across battle lines During the turbulent aftermath of Napoleon's downfall, Armand (Ramon Novarro), a dashing Bonapartist officer, is sentenced to death by Royalist forces. Escaping his executioners in a daring getaway, Armand sneaks into a high-society mansion and hides in the bedchamber of Leonie (Dorothy Jordan), a royalist loyalist who despises his cause. Disguising himself as a humble manservant to stay hidden, Armand sets out to win Leonie's heart despite their opposing political loyalties. Featuring early Technicolor musical sequences and Ramon Novarro's charismatic singing, Devil-May-Care (1929) is a charming pre-Code swashbuckling romantic comedy.
