We’ve got our hands on the original BMW M2, the BMW M2 Competition, the BMW M2 CS and the New BMW M2 to see which is the quarter-mile king! Not only that, we’ve got our hands on the car that inspired them all - the BMW 1M Coupe! So let’s see how they stack up. Starting with the 1M Coupe, it’s powered by a 3-litre twin-turbo straight-six that can produce 340hp and 500Nm of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox, and the car weighs in at 1,495kg. Next up we have the original BMW M2. It’s powered by a 3-litre turbocharged straight-six, and it can put down 370hp and 500Nm. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a dual-clutch automatic gearbox, and it tips the scales at 1,520kg. Then we have the BMW M2 Competition. With a 3-litre twin-turbo straight-six under the bonnet, it can put down 410hp and 550Nm, and power is sent to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. It’s the heaviest car in the first race, weighing 1,575kg. Then we have the cars for the second race.
