I test what happens when we try to use a grounded punch to trigger a star collection with momentum. Thanks to Nim for suggesting this.
It’s already known that we can collect a star with momentum if we kick a wall in the air while collecting a star. However, we wondered if we could produce the same result using a grounded punch. Of course, since the punch happens on the ground, we need the ground to disappear on the frame that we collect the star and when the punch hits a wall. In the video, I use a hacked setup to test this.
The results are that a stationary punch cannot trigger a star collection with momentum, while a moving punch can.
Could this be useful for reducing TTC Get a Hand & Re-Enter from 0.5 A presses to 0? Possibly. The backwards speed is 48 in both the kick and punch recoils, so it seems feasible.
