"Y'know what let's not put it in a vice because it won't take nearly long enough for that to matter"
The more pretentious the name, the worst the lock.
After single-pin picking it without having to make multiple passes, I'd have liked to see you rake it open.
Walmart is becoming to powerful, they made the Walmart brand joke out of an actual Walmart brand lock
It might be one shitty lock, but the company have a great and VERY misleading name.
It was picked and disassembled in under 5 minutes, I don't know if Hyper Tough was the right name
O my goodness the pins just went right in order.
The security feature on this one relies on giving the perpetrator too many options
Who even buys this at a Walmart? On the other hand, if everything in your home is from Walmart, then that's precisely the lock you'd want.
It seems the only thing of quality that they sell there are guns and munitions — or is there a Walmart-15 semi-automatic on the market?
That's the type of lock I would put in a bathroom, enough for privacy but easy enough to open in case of emergency.
I actually have used this lock before, it's decent for bedrooms & closets that need to remain locked shut, but not much else. Sure isn't a lock you want to use on any door that may get kicked in, as any door that can actually survive being kicked in (basically any door that isn't a door that leads inside/outside of your home, since most interior doors can easily be destroyed if you kick them hard) is likely stronger than this lock itself.
I am a landlord and bought I think it was brinks door locks at Walmart to replace locks on various rentals. Turns out they all had the same Key face palm
The Hyper tough lawn care tools are great.
So what you're saying is that this is a good lock… for a beginner to pick
Thanks for explaining what makes a good strike plate.
Me before discovering LPL: Why pay more, a lock is a lock, what am I trying to do, prevent the next Oceans 11 heist at my house?Me after LPL: (adjusting monocle) Why, clearly a toy like this should be labeled “For Novelty Purposes Only” chortle chortle chortle
Lmao, only took LPL 13 seconds to pick that lock!! Epic fail from Walmart. Junk lock, avoid this.
10 seconds to pick this one, in a very relaxed setting. I anticipate that if LPL was in a competition of some sort, it'd take maybe half of this time.
now that's something interesting: to speedrun lockpicking
"I'm not getting a vice cause it's not gonna matter, it's not going to take too long" ouch..
The name "hyper tough" should be the first alarm bell. Sounds like a five year old came up with it. And knowing walmart, it probably was built by one too.
Breathing on it will open it?
Can it be raked?
The perfect lock to announce to thieves that you don't buy anything worth stealing.
Picked in one pass is a bad sign.
I mean no one with a house worth of stuff worth stealing is buying a $8 Walmart lock for their house.Security is 99% deterrence and 1% resistance. Having any lock will deter 99% of criminals.
This is why you never skimp on certain things.
10 dollars? 7.99 at my walmart. you actually got keys with not bad bitting. i buy em just for the keys for my smartkey locks.ya ya i know well nothing is safe against you but the current exploit doesn't work on mine as i've tried them.
"What I have for you today is a 'HyperTough' brand deadbolt."Gotta love how lawyers phrase things, lol
10 bucks is a ripoff
Even their tools suck. Hyper tough? More like hyper weak
That's why I installed the strike for my deadbolt with 3½" drywall screws
